AnnoVid browser extension
AnnoVid browser extension is a web browser extension offered by us. It injects code into web pages that you are visiting in order to query information about available video elements and to temporarily manipulate the web page structure.
When using AnnoVid browser extension, we gather and store the following data that might be personal data depending on what information you give to us:
- The video source URL and page URL of video elements queried by AnnoVid browser extension
- Your email address
- Your user name
- Annotation texts written by you
These data are stored at your local browser storage. When you share or backup annotations, these data will be exchanged with the AnnoVid server and will be sent to the receivers. It will be your choice which annotations you share and to whom you share.
Additionally, we automatically gather and process the following data when using AnnoVid browser extension:
- IP address of the computer accessing AnnoVid browser extension
- Some location information (city, region and country) belonging to your IP address
- Type, version and language of the browser and operating system of the computer accessing AnnoVid browser extension
Your IP address is sent to https://ipstack.com/ in order to obtain above mentioned location information based on your IP address. We only use this IP address and no additional location services on your computer to obtain location information. We send your IP address, the obtained location information as well as the type, version and language of the browser and operating system of your computer to https://sentry.io/ for error tracking purposes. When you share annotations via email, your email address will be sent to https://web.de from where it will be sent to the receiver addresses.
